Limmud Fest Participant Care team leader

My name is Florence and I am the Participant Care co-ordinator for Limmud Fest 2014. Having moved to Sydney a few months ago from Europe, it was really important for me to connect with the Jewish community here in Australia and Limmud Fest has definitely given me this opportunity.

The main goal of the Participant Care team is to make sure everyone who comes to Limmud Fest is looked after and enjoys everything the program has to offer. We're committed to making it as easy and fun as possible for Fest participants to meet new people and socialise while enjoying a beautiful weekend away.

Getting there and away

One of our priorities is to ensure it is easy for everyone to attend Limmud Fest, no matter where they live.

Limmud Fest is best reached by car and is 1.5 hours drive north of Sydney. For more detailed information on how to get there please go to our website. Free parking is available on site.

If you are unable to drive, we have a carpooling program, so if you need a lift coming to Fest, we will do our best to arrange it for you. All you need to do is let us know when you register and we will take care of the rest.

If you are coming from interstate, we will also be running a free billeting program for those who need accommodation for an extra night or two before or after Fest.

Creating new connections

In addition to being a great way to enjoy some time away with your family and friends, Limmud Fest is also the perfect setting for creating new connections within the community. Whether you already know someone coming to Fest or you are coming alone, you're sure to have a great time and meet new people.

We've planned a number of activities to make socialising easy and fun, including an ice-breaker session at the start of Fest to create the perfect atmosphere for participants of all ages and backgrounds to meet and get to know each other, and create friendships that will last long after the weekend.

Logistics

Mealtimes are a great opportunity to meet new people
Upon arrival at Limmud Fest, you'll be given a program booklet containing a map of the site and the session schedule, to make sure you know what's happening where and when, and to help you plan your weekend around the sessions you're most interested in attending.

We'll also be running short site tours at 4:30pm and 6:00pm to help you find your way around. Please meet at the Information Desk in the Dining Room. If you have questions or need any assistance during the weekend, feel free to ask one of our friendly volunteers or come to the Information Desk.
